This series consists of receiving registers that list items received at the "Storehouse" of the Syracuse State Institution for Feeble-Minded Children during 1907-1916. A variety of foodstuffs and dry goods, including utensils, equipment and materials are listed as "goods." Headings for entries in both volumes are identical: date; from (name of company from which goods were received); folio (number); goods; cost of items; and total. Volume one lists items received during the period February 1, 1907 - May 31, 1911. Volume two lists items received during the period June 1, 1911 - May 31, 1916.

An 1851 law provided for the state to undertake the care and teaching of "idiots" (the then accepted term for people with retardation). That year, Dr. Hervey B.
